Code Coven's IGM 2023 program was phenomenal! I was able to create the most amazing game with the most amazing people! Ghost Cohort and my team for Apple Sprite (Summer, Siphon, and Natalie) were absolutely amazing!
The character looks phenomenal and right at home in the game.
Adding a jumping sound to the trigger when jumped really made the character feel even more whimsical!
Pushing the character into the actual game system and editing the animations was difficult but satisfying! I retargetted the skeletal mesh and replaced the third person character to make sure the character could utilize Unreal's skeletal base.
I worked on the skeletal mesh, collisions, and animations, and was starting to find a great balance!
My team found a new color scheme that better fit the game! This sprite is so cute!
While Mixamo was great at creating a skeleton, the animations were having a hard time transitioning into one another and I was getting glitches I wasn't sure how to fix.
I uploaded the character to Mixamo and was astonished! I could actually see the character in motion!!
My team went through a variety of different color schemes and were having a hard time settling on one that felt whimsical and utterly un-human in a way that was strange but not disturbingly unsettling.
I created a variety of different body types with the same theme and clothes since those were things that were already settled on.
